Day 4 Date: 5/18/22
Today was hard; I could get my sessions in time for my nightly power pump.

I only have one flange that fits okay; it takes me more time:
Left side – 12 minutes
Right side – 12 minutes
Left side – 8 minutes
Right side – 8 minutes
Left side – 8 minutes
Right side – 8 minutes
Left side – 8 minutes
Right side – 8 minutes
Or
Pump right breast for 10 minutes (do nothing on left breast)
Switch side, pump left breast for 10 minutes (rest time for right breast)
Switch side, pump right breast for 10 minutes (rest time for left breast)
Switch side, pump left breast for 10 minutes (rest time for right breast)
Switch side, pump right breast for 10 minutes (rest time for left breast)
Switch side, pump left breast for 10 minutes (rest time for right breast)
Today I finally filled the small syringe they give you in the hospital in one pumping session. My goal for today was to find a better pumping bra because the one I have is small and pinches me. The pinching I can ignore, but my breast doesn't like to be treated poorly hence the demanding pumping schedule. I had to pay $45 plus shipping for a suitable pumping garment. We will see how it turns out.
I am learning so much from this experience. Crazy how I feel like I need to get an education to breastfeed my children. I think people expect you to ask a dozen questions, but what if you don't know what to ask? Everything in the medical field is based on the questions you ask, but I was told I didn't have the right to question people my entire life.
Even when I research breastfeeding, I have trouble giving the search engines enough key terms to get my needed results. I don't know what I am looking for, so how can I ask the right questions. Frances giggled in her sleep for the first time today; it felt like a reward to hear.
Ps, my period decided to go heavy today; I have to remind myself to keep moving forward.
